Wenatchee Valley VFW Post 3617 annually sponsors a tuition scholarship
for a deserving Nursing School student.
Originated by Otto Adams, a life member of our post,
and past president of American Legion Post 10;
In 2017 the Scholarship was changed
to add the name of locally born (Waterville) Army Medic Kellen Biggar,
who was killed after returning from Deployment in Iraq,
and who intended to use his army medics training to
pursue a career in Nursing before a tragic auto accident claimed his life.
The Scholarship was renamed
VFW Post 3617 Kellen Biggar Nursing Scholarship.
